About St. Vincent Pallotti

St. Vincent Pallotti (1795 to 1850) was born in Rome and founded the Society of the Catholic Apostolate (The Pallottines) over 150 years ago.

In Vincent’s time there was a tremendous desire for positive action.  Many men and women were drawn to Vincent’s spirit and spread his message all over the continent.

This missionary zeal brought the Pallottines to the United States in the early 1880’s and to the Midwest Province headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1923.

In 1963 Pope John XXIII canonized Vincent Pallotti.

St. Vincent Pallotti’s dream was to enable lay people to assume their proper role in the mission of the Church and to establish a community to translate his vision into reality.

The Pallottines were founded to remind the Church that the lay people are essential members and that, together with clergy and those in consecrated life, we are all sent as apostles for the Church and the World.
